Introduction
How you apply for readmission depends on whether your honours program is end-on honours or embedded honours.
Instructions
End-on honours programs
If you completed some study (have at least one grade) before you withdrew from the Honours degree, you may be able to be readmitted to the program, if approved by the Program Director.
To be approved readmission to an Honours degree, you must be able to resume your candidature and complete requirements within three years from the date of first enrolment. If you are not able to complete your candidature within this timeframe, the Program Director may approve readmission to a new Honours degree candidature, requiring you to complete the full 80CP of study.
Embedded honours program
If you are a former Griffith University student who discontinued your embedded honours program, you may be able to resume study in your former program. If you were made an offer but did not complete any study, you can also apply for readmission to commence the program.
Eligibility
Please note that you will not be eligible for readmission if:
- there have been significant changes to the admission requirements or you no longer meet the minimum rank
your program has been withdrawn or the teach-out period has passed- check the Programs and Courses webpage
- you received an offer for a competitive or quota-managed program and did not attempt any study and/or were withdrawn prior to census date
- if so, you will need to apply for the program again
- your program has professional practice requirements that you will be unable to complete.
Completing your program in time
The amount of time you have to complete depends on your program and the year you commenced. See Section 3.11 of the Enrolment Procedure for details.
If an extension of time to complete is required, and is no more than 12 months, an extension will be considered as part of the readmission process. If there is not enough time for you to complete the program, even with an extension, your readmission will not be approved, and you will need to apply for the program again.
Withdrawn program
If your program has been withdrawn, and you won’t be able to complete the program by the end of the teach out period, you will not be be approved for readmission to the program.
In this case, you can apply for an internal transfer for admission to the replacement program or a new program.
